If you’ve got some time to kill – or even if you don’t – you should check out Eric Matson’s MarketingMonger podcast.
Eric set himself the goal of interviewing 1000 people about marketing and podcasting them. He’s just shy of the 100 mark as we speak.
Of course, in 1000 potential interviews there’s bound to be subjects one isn’t interested in, but it’s surprising just what insights have been coming up in Eric’s travels.
Particularly good was the interview with usability guru Jared Spool, who is not only funny but full of wisdom and statistics around making user experiences that actually work.
And it’s amazing how many people Eric talks to – how many people I meet in my travels, as well – who emphasise the importance of user, or customer, experience. After all, to paraphrase Paul Adams, a recent guest on the show, the experience we offer is our only competitive advantage.
