It’s 12 days (and 11 hours) till I get on the plane for Guangzhou, China where I’ll be speaking at this conference.
Why is the British Government flying a New Zealander to China? I guess because I had something to say at last year’s Education New Zealand conference, where I questioned the business model of education, and suggested everyone make friends with Chinese people if they want to start learning mandarin.
While in China I’ll also be visiting (and blogging about) Kiwi businesses and the technology startup scene.
If you’re in China and want to meet up, please let me know! I’m going to Guangzhou, Beijing, Shanghai, Suzhou, Hangzhou and Shenzhen. (Yes, it’s going to be busy!)
The purpose of the trip is:
- To deliver a presentation to a British Council conference on international education, March 26th in Guangzhou
- To visit some of China’s top technology companies, understand their strategy and the future direction of social media marketing.
- To provide more information to New Zealand exporters about the evolving and changing Chinese social media scene.
- To learn more about the marketing needs of New Zealand companies operating in China.
